May. 9th, 2021 09:01 pmHappy Mother's Day to everyone who is a mother and/or celebrates with their mothers.
My mom doesn't treat it like much of a big day - we don't do the greeting cards and flowers thing so much. I did buy her some plants (petunias and dianthus) to plant in her garden, since we're *almost* to the point where it's safe to plant.
I went over for dinner after work, and that was nice. She made some barbecued ribs, which were delicious. Alex doesn't eat pork, so it's been a long time since I'd had ribs. Nom.
My grandmother is doing well! She's home with Debby, and doing well with dialysis. They're looking at a couple different options for at-home dialysis, which would be nice. My mom is going back down there in another week-ish, and staying for a few days again.
The weather definitely reminded us that we aren't quite to the date to plant things just yet - it did snow. Mostly it rained, but at my office we had a band of really heavy snow for about ten minutes. Nothing that stuck, but now we're under a winter weather advisory until Tuesday morning, ugh. If we actually have accumulating snow, I think I'll cry.
I did remember to grab the cricket cage and food, so now I have a cricket colony, too, ha. At least maybe I won't have to go buy Broccoli Cheddar Bomb crickets quite so often (and can try to make sure the crickets are well-fed before he eats them.) I think he's due for a cage cleaning in the next couple days, and I'll see how he likes smooth river pebbles instead of dyed aquarium gravel, lol.
Alex seems to have come down with some sort of crud. He started not feeling well last night, and feels worse today. I feel fine, but still just extremely tired.
I have to train 2 or 3 new people tomorrow, so that's going to be a long day.
I've fallen behind on commenting and some communities... I'll try to get caught up in the next couple days!
