Apartment stuff + writing stuff
Sep. 23rd, 2021 08:10 pmWell, apartment management miraculously "found" our recertification paperwork, and it has been approved! So we signed the lease last night and dropped it by the office this morning. So at least that's done! I'm definitely less stressed about that whole *thing* now, even as I'm still annoyed by this particular incarnation of our management.
Still have not heard anything back from maintenance about the broken garbage disposal (which we DID finally report.) It's definitely not an emergency, but still.
Also have not heard back about needing to set up a reinspection date.

Had one (1) "good" day of writing the night before last - wrote more than 600 words in a go! It's... a little sad that that seems like a "good" day, when I had a couple runs of hitting 500+ words every day, but... welp, it's better than nothing! It did not transfer to magical motivation yesterday, when limping across 100 words was still a struggle. But dammit, I want to finish this damn fic.
TBH, if this fic *hadn't* been for a challenge, I would probably give up on it. But it was for a challenge, where it was allowed to post a WIP only if you were reasonably certain it would be completed. Which at the time I was... Now it's been months, but I still feel honor-bound to complete the damn thing.

On the writing front, my head keeps jumping ahead to October, because a couple people on my FB flist shared the 2021 Inktober prompt list. I recall it turning out that the guy who started Inktober is kind of a dick, but there are always buckets of alternative prompt lists that go around. Since I'm not much of a visual artist, a couple times I've used the prompt list to write oneshots.
Part of me wants to do that again! I've found prompt lists like that a lot of fun in the past. A holiday themed one for original fic several years ago, Inktober back in maybe 2018? 2019? The AUgust prompts last year...
But considering how burned out I am on this current WIP, plus the several things that I have in various stages of in-progress, or hope to get started on... I also know it's probably not a good idea, ha.
(And that's not even getting into thinking about NaNoWriMo. I've done it enough years in a row, I don't want to break my streak, but I don't have a bit project to turn my attention toward right now. Though I've still got over a month to figure that out.)
