Miscellany
Oct. 1st, 2021 09:51 pm- Still haven't settled on an art or writing prompt-something for October, so I guess that answers that. ;) Maybe I'll revisit some of the lists I've seen on one of my days off and do a couple things, but I'm afraid the ship has sailed for a daily exercise.
- This week at work was pretty sucky so far. The work friend that I went to the Van Gogh show with was sick all week, so I had to reschedule her Wednesday and Thursday, plus half of today. It wasn't too bad, since we had people volunteer to take parts of her shifts, but there was still stuff that had to get bumped. I'm also still rescheduling the stuff for the driver who was fired at one of my manager's other centers, which is still kind of a nightmare, as she'd been scheduled through November and they still haven't hired anyone new. AND then another driver said he had a family emergency, so we had to clear his weekend and Monday. Rescheduling is literally my least favorite thing, so this has been frustrating. I really hope nothing new comes up this weekend.
- My to-be-read list is taunting me even more than usual. I'm almost done with The Last Sun, which I'm enjoying. After that, I want to read Under the Whispering Door, which Taylor just finished and promised will probably make me cry as much as they did reading it. Then When Sorrows Come. And then today I got the copy of Dark Rise that I'd pre-ordered (though it was sent to my mom's address by mistake.) Then there's the sequel to The Last Sun, The Hanged Man, which was the one that Taylor really wanted me to read and made them rec them to me. And that's ignoring the fact that I still have SO MANY other things that were pushed down the list to make room for these new things: Ninth House, the Inheritance Trilogy, Gideon the Ninth, Cemetery Boys, A Conspiracy of Truths, Hummingbird Salamander... I need to start reading a whole lot faster.
- I didn't write anything yesterday, because it got really late. I am extremely tempted to bail again tonight, but I know I shouldn't. It's my chance to start again with an attempt to write every day this month! I can't fuck up on the first!
