Day 8 of NaNo and of The Crud
Nov. 8th, 2021 08:53 pmSo that's good, at least. (I did not think it was Covid, but I definitely wanted to be sure.)
That doesn't help me feel any LESS SICK. It's all about the same as yesterday, except I in general feel worse. The cough is slightly worse, as is the brain fog. More congested, too. My chest is sore from the coughing. My appetite is back though, and the sore throat is maybe incrementally less horrible? My voice comes and goes a bit.
I slept a few hours in the middle of the day after my Covid test, which was good, but woke up when it was already dark, so felt real disoriented.

Day 8 of NaNo: Wrote 1852 words. I feel like maybe I should have been giving one-sentence updates on where I am in the story. IDK, for posterity.
Day 1 - Vincent, last living member of his pack, has been captured by the God's Messengers cult, who plan to torture him to death to 'save' him from the 'demon' he's possessed by.
Day 2 - After Vincent's escape, Erik finds him half-dead in the woods.
Day 3 - Erik and Alina do the best they can in their isolated farmhouse to patch Vincent up.
Day 4 - Erik and Alina offer to let Vincent stay; Alina heads into the cult-controlled town to buy supplies.
Day 5 - The trip into town is a worrying one; Vincent assesses the damage to himself.
Day 6 - In exchange for letting him stay, Vincent offers to help get the under-prepared Erik and Alina better set up in their home.
Day 7 - Vincent continues to help; Erik and Alina independently express their feelings of guilt over trapping the other out there.
Today - With the full moon approaching, Vincent has to find a plausible reason to get away for a few days.
