Dec. 28th, 2021 06:37 pmAnother shooting, way too nearby for comfort. We saw several police cars hauling it down the road near our apartment yesterday evening just before we left for my mom's. Had no idea it was for this.
Six dead, including the shooter. Love waking up to my hometown in a national news story for... this. Parts of it happened about a mile away from my apartment.
One of the women who was murdered, Alicia Cardenas, was not someone I knew, but she was a friend of many of my friends. Our local indie paper did a memorial article on her, and it very much tracks with what other people have said about her - an amazing artist, who focused for decades on working to bring inclusivity to the local tattoo industry.

I don't feel like I have a lot to say in conclusion. Another horrible thing that shouldn't have happened.
