Jan. 13th, 2022 09:33 pmApparently, even if Alex had made it in to his CT appointment yesterday, it wouldn't have happened.
His doctor got a call from the hospital saying that the referral was "invalid" and that they'd require a new one.
Not sure WHY it was allegedly invalid, and that was already the second time she'd sent it in because they lost the first one... so maybe third time's the charm on that?
But yesterday Alex started not feeling great, beyond just the stomach pain. This morning he was sort of okay, but by the time he went to his regular doctor's appointment mid-morning he was feeling vastly worse.
His temperature rose throughout the day, though it's stayed in the "low fever" range - mostly around 99ish, though his usual temp with the same thermometer is around 97.3-97.5. Mostly it seems to be sinus symptoms. He did take a Covid test while at the doctor, but it wasn't a rapid test, so he's not sure when he'll get results.
The workers at our usual grocery store are on strike right now (which seems to be pretty broadly supported, which I'm glad of!) so I went to Target after work to try and get Alex some cold meds. The entire aisle was basically wiped out - I got the last available box of the generic nyquil, and all that was left was the giant two-packs of liquid dayquil/nyquil, which were super pricey.

Found out another of my friends from college, living in TX now, just tested positive. She's angry because she's been super careful and has it anyway.
The fully vaxxed friends who caught it right after New Years are still debilitatingly sick.
Ugh. I feel exhausted and burned out. It's frustrating, because I feel like it's too early in the year to feel this wiped out... but of course that's all arbitrary. This is just the same creeping exhaustion and burnout from the last two years, heh.
