Alex's birthday!
Mar. 5th, 2022 08:56 pmWell, the crippling dread about today was mostly unfounded, so that's better than not, haha.
Today *was* pretty miserable, but mostly just the kind that was easily predictable, not the kind where "everything went wrong." Our payment processor went down for a while yesterday, and somehow that also impacted customers' ability to log in? (I was cc'd on an email from one of the web developers, and he thought they were connected, though I'm not clear on how.) So I did walk in to 15 or so frantic "I CAN'T LOG IN. FIX MY ACCOUNT IMMEDIATELY!!!" customer care emails.
The person I had the bad feeling was going to call in did not call in... but hinted at the idea that he might want to quit. Which... oof, sucks. He has a legit frustration, but I hope he cools down and doesn't actually leave. :(

Alex's birthday today! Not a ton of celebration today. I was at work and Alex... cleaned. Party hard, man.
But we grabbed takeout for dinner, and he bought a cake of his choosing (tiramisu).
Tomorrow I took off of work, and he's going to go get a tattoo (main bday gift). We... probably won't do much else, since it's supposed to be pretty gross weather-wise.
(I was pleasantly surprised at my lack of aches and pains at the incoming snow... until a few hours ago when my hands started really hurting. And now the snow has begun.)
