We did not go out last night, and I'm pretty relieved.
Alex was trying to gear up for it despite the stomach crud, but I mentioned that I kind of felt like going out would be rough - today was one of my early days at work. And having not been out in literal years, I anticipated it'd be pretty tiring at best. And he pretty much said "oh thank god, I'm having such a bout of anxiety about it." So that was that, and instead of getting fancy I got to wear PJs the rest of the night, which I think was the better choice.
This morning, I was even more relieved, because the promoter posted a video of the night... hundreds of people crammed into the main room, and the venue last week lifted their vax-or-test requirement. Mask mandate has already been lifted for a while.
I'm happy to start getting back to doing things, but that seemed like... too much. As much as I really have been wanting to go out and missing clubbing and stuff, I'm apparently very not ready for that yet. I feel like the only one (as evidenced by the hundreds of people piled on top of each other) who thinks that level of event is still not a great idea, but. I feel like that level of event is still not a great idea.
So we stayed in, watched stuff, went to bed around midnight, lol. Seems suitable for getting old and boring, lol.
Going over to my mom and Taylor's tomorrow. My mom is making me a pie. :)
