Last night I stayed up a bit too late to finish the rewrite of Outbreak. I'm very happy to have it done! Now to decide on the next thing to work on, ha. And weighing the benefits of just one more full read-through on Outbreak to make sure there's nothing in the whole that I'm missing.

Today was the Rockies game, courtesy of Taylor's company. We had a private suite (with holy shit a lot of people - Taylor's company + several of their big clients and other partners and such.) Catering, as promised, plus beer (I tried two and was very brave about it, lol. An apricot pale ale that improved by about halfway through the can, and then something that was a beer and lemonade mix which was... meh, but drinkable.) I do NOT want to know how much the whole thing cost, lmao.
The game didn't go the way we hoped, and the Giants won, but it was pretty dramatic and exciting! There was lots of "oh shit, they're ahead, on no we tied, FUCK they got a fucking grand slam, wait shit we tied it up again" and dramatic plays and catches and base steals and such. We ended up losing in the 11th inning, based on an on-the-field ruling that was overturned. :( Boooo
Taylor and I amused our - not sports fans - selves by doing snobbish fake commentary. A left-handed batter came up to the plate, so I very seriously said "ah yes, the 'sinner's gambit', a bold choice", which was apparently a hit in Taylor's friends' group chat. Sometimes I'm funny.

Taylor and I played another good chunk of Nier: Replicant, and are getting close to the endgame for the second half. (Then new-game+ ish with new context, I think.)
We also read a bit more - the Alice/Thomas short story "Build a Better" and then we started on the (novel-length!) "Halfway Through the Wood", which certainly is another emotional downer, heh.
They have to go to work at some obscene hour tomorrow (be there at 7? get up at 5:30? Ew.) But yeah, I'm pretty wiped, so catching up on things here will hopefully happen tomorrow!
