Lair o' the Bear
Jun. 7th, 2021 09:24 pmWe went on another hike today! This time to Lair o' the Bear, just up in the mountains. The hike was between 2 and 3 miles, and was pretty flat. I didn't have nearly the trouble I had with endurance at Mount Falcon, but there also wasn't an incline this time.
It was really warm, though the sun was behind the clouds for a good part of it. (Apparently we missed there being tornadoes up north!)
Unfortunately it was pretty crowded - it is one of the better-known and easily accessible county parks, but I'd hoped a Monday afternoon wouldn't be too bad.
Also unfortunately ~mosquitoes~. I'm sure I was eaten alive.
But it was still a lovely hike!

A pretty little stream feeding into the creek.

A great blue heron! Probably the best part of the walk.
( 15 more behind the cut: flowers, scenery, birds... )
It was a nice day out! Took a nap when we got back, and now am hopefully going to get some writing done before going to bed for the night.
