Day 17 of NaNo + work crap
Nov. 17th, 2021 09:50 pmForgot I had to train someone today. It was fine, and even having to talk for a solid six hours didn't prompt too much coughing! I usually like training, but my patience wasn't quite there today, though I think it went fine.
Work friend quit this morning, so there's a ton of rescheduling we're going to have to do. :/ I'm vaguely hopeful it'll mostly be at a different center and that therefore the other main support will have to deal with it, but I have a feeling I'll be volunteered to do it, haha. Work friend's reasoning was that she wasn't going to stay if Colleen wasn't, though I think she really was just looking for an excuse... her family is moving to Ohio after the new year, and she'll be moving with them, and she's not really enjoyed her job for a while. Still kind of a bummer she wouldn't stick out the last month that she'd committed to, but I also understand.
Sounds like they have at least a temporary plan for management. When the manager of two of the *other* centers quit about a month ago, they hired two people to replace him. One was brand new, the other was an instructor who applied for the manager position. Sounds like they're going to leave the new woman at the other centers, and bring the instructor to my office to manage. (At least for now; if they get another applicant this could change, I'm sure.)
Mixed feelings, but mostly good. I wasn't a *big* fan of him as an instructor, because I thought he cut corners, but he wasn't *bad.* He does have a versatile number of skills, having been cross-trained on most stuff, so that might be very helpful for us in a pinch. And he's reasonably personable, and at least he's someone I've met! Though it could turn out I hate his management style, so we'll see!

NaNo Day 17: 1712 words. [Time for that awkward talk between all three, and then time to get it on.]
Today was the last day of well-planned outline... now the outline gets vague and I'm hoping I won't totally fall apart on my wordcount, haha.
