Day 18 of NaNo
Nov. 18th, 2021 11:22 pmChaotic work day - trying to get basically all the loose ends for my manager tied up. Lots of rescheduling, with work friend leaving, plus a couple holiday time off requests, plus another instructor asking to change his whole availability.
They did officially announce the other guy as taking over the center. It sounds like it's not intended as an interim thing, so much as a "lateral move." He lives closer to this location than the one he was originally hired to manage, so he prefers this one. Glad that means we won't have to do this again in a month or so when they hire someone else (or at least I hope!)
I'm still relieved that he's at least someone I've met, so I know at least slightly what to expect. He seems maybe slightly clueless, but that's something that can be improved. I'll take clueless over malicious any day. (And we've had some of those at various types - people who could act sweet, and then did everything they could to sabotage people behind their backs.) Other work friend and I have decided we will simply have to mold him like playdough.
He's coming to our location tomorrow to get a little bit of time with my manager before she leaves, hopefully to make it a smooth transition.
Also glad that it's not going to be the field director just filling in, because that is always a disaster when she does that, heh.
Sad that tomorrow is the last day I work with my manager, though. (Though she may have some stuff to do on Saturday, but I don't know if she'll be in the center if she does.) ;-;

Day 18 of NaNo: 1744 words [Sexy time for all three.]
First day I haven't had a more complete outline to work from, and it definitely showed. It took hours to scratch out my wordcount, and that was with lots of "it's okay for it to suck!" reminders to myself. We'll see how the rest of the month goes! It could have been a struggle because hoo boy have I not written porn in a long while, and I'm most definitely not thrilled with today's effort.
